This translation, with its commentary, is a manual for making, directing, or studying the Spiritual Exercises. It is the first English version of the Exercises to include both the traditional section numbers and the new, internationally agreed upon verse numbers.
GEORGE E. GANSS, SJ, the translator of St. Ignatius's text and the author of this commentary, is the founder of the Institute of Jesuit Sources, and is internationally known for his work on the thought and writings of St. Ignatius and of the early Jesuits.
